Kanden, aimed to be a fast paced youth commercial entertainer with added value to comedy, does not get you engaged. Loose logic-less script, shabby direction, scoreless acting and questions your patience level at different times.
Coming from the debutant director Mugil, the story resembles so much of Livingston Sollamale. The crust of the story is Vasanth (Shanthanoo) who his forced by his grandfather to marry, desires to have a love marriage. So expectedly goes the script, he falls to a girl, pretends to be a blind. Finally the girl unfolds he is not a visually challenged person and attempts for suicide. Circumstances lead to finally Vasanth and Narmada (Reshmi) getting engaged. Vasanth gives a bash to his friends, and finally lands up in a squabble and ends up losing his eyes temporarily. Rest of the story is how Sami (Santhanam) helps Vasanth to hide the truth, romance around his fiancé and undergo treatment (gets his eyes corrected before marriage). Finally as all candy floss goes, he gets married and lived ever happily L((
Mugil sotry, screen play is a big big let down. Shanthanoo has to choose his scripts better if he needs a run here, feels the next couple of movies is going to break or make him. Music is a stand out in the movie, Vijay Ebenzer has scored well in BG as well as couple of songs. The stand out and the main reason you can sit through the movie is Santhanam, as usual he is a joy to watch with his one liners. Couple of scenes in the second half is just a scream.
Overall, a poor movie with music and Santhanam standing out. You could buy Kanden album and watch comedy in Adithiya TV, instead of sitting through the pain of 3 hours.
