Thamibikottai directed by Ramesh, has Narian playing the
lead after Anjathey (3 years). Looking at the competition, I guess you must
release at least every 15 months and deliver a hit. However for Narain another
film is still under the box without any takers. The luck on this talented actor
is fading away, and Thambikootai is a mass film, and he does not coalesce into
the act, and I feel it’s too soon for an actor like him testing his throng.
With the elaborate casting, you expect a mass film, and you will not be disenchanted, but the script and the hero, and the sequence dishearten you
This is a jest of the story, comes in every other Tamil cinema
The fight sequences are however shot well, nothing new about the music and cinematography. Comedy from Santhanam and MS Bhaskar are passable. Poonam Bajwa is very ordinary; well it’s a commercial movie. Surprisingly director has got the script for a commercial mass entertainer ok, but got with the hero and casting horribly wrong. Sangeetha as Beeda Pandiamma makes you just feel “why – you are a talented actor, why this”. This is a script where a hero should act who commands an opening, a mass and a guarantee month’s run. Overall, a movie which can be watched if you have done with every other movie to offer; like us :( !!

- A Hero studies in a college, with group of friends- abides a comedian Santhanam
- Hero is attached with his sister, and even asks permission for a group NSC tour to Thambikotai, a green neighborhood of Tanjore
- Hero visits Thambikotai, bypassing a pitiless murder on the broken bridge, letting you know the scheme of things
- Hero is a finicky guy and commits anything for good
- Heroin meets hero along with a comedian for a typical mass movie in a holy place (Obvious – where else ! )
- Hero stirs heroin, and gets into trouble with the heroin dad (as expected a don with aruvals, goondas, old sumos)
- Romantic number, and a kuthu song to irritate you ear is of course there!!
- Flash backs (narrated by his loving sister), fight backs, freaking bore sequence (3 f’s of Tamil mass movies) are there with Prabhu making a guest appearance
- Hero wins (WoW what a surprise)
